Saawariya composer is back

His music for Saawariya may have got him a mixed response, both critically as well as amongst the audience. However, courtesy all the hype surrounding the film and the superhit title track by Shail Hada, 'Saawariya', composer Monty Sharma overnight became a household name. However, the man was in no hurry to sign multiple projects as a music composer and continued his stint with creating  background score for the films. His most recent work was in LOVE STORY 2050 which came a few months after his other release of the year - U Me Aur Hum. Known most for his superb work as a background music composer for Black, Monty Sharma has also worked on films like Apne and Luckey - No Time For Love. Now almost a year after his songs from SAAWARIYA were heard, Monty's work as a music director would be witnessed again in Chamku which marks a complete departure for the composer. While Saawariya was pitched as a classic love story, Chamku is an action-thriller and stars Bobby Deol in the lead. The film also stars Ritesh Deshmukh, Irrfan Khan, Danny Denzongpa, Rajpal Yadav and Arya Babbar. The first song from the album is already on air and sees Bobby Deol serenading Priyanka Chopra in a romantic encounter. With a melodic base to it, the song throws in a surprise since as a film, CHAMKU tells the story of a Naxalite (Bobby Deol), who is trained as an assassin under a covert governmental program, with a brutal past of political assassinations. Coming back to Monty, some of the other films for which he has been roped in as a music director are HEROES, RIGHT YA WRONG and DO LUCKY.
