Despite being a star kid, he doesn't carry a chip on his shoulder. Ahmedabad Times caught up with actor Tusshar Kapoor at his chatty best in Ahmedabad where he came for the promotion of his film. Excerpts from an interview :Role Call
In my new film I play the role of a kidnapper who gets married and later gets into the business of book piracy in this dark comedy. Unlike the role I did in Shoot Out At Lokhandwala, this character has shades of grey. The film got appreciated at various film festivals across the globe, so I'm expecting a good response in India too.
Ekta And Me
I never get actively involved in Ekta's work. But yes, if I'm into the movie she is producing, I definitely keep a track of things. I prefer to be involved with her health and fitness regime instead. I got her into playing squash and doing yoga to ensure that she gets to be at her fittest best and also can destress and relax. Since Ekta travels a lot, yoga definitely helps her relax. But, I'm not willing to share my fitness trainer with her while she is traveling because no matter how much I love her, I can't afford to miss out on my workouts, come what may.
Pamper Sutra
I love to play squash, enjoy watching all genres of movies — even in different languages. I even attend film screenings when I get some free time. For Shor in the City, I watched many regional language films as the role demanded it. And yes, I enjoy food a lot —particularly pizza and pasta. When I travel, I pamper my tastebuds with a variety of local cuisine wherever I go. When I'm in Ahmedabad I simply don't go back without having the Gujarati thali because I love Gujarati food a lot.
A Lot Of Golmaal
Golmaal, Golmaal Returns and Golmaal 3 are very close to my heart. The entire unit of those films is like a family now. I am told people are waiting for Golmaal 4. I'm also looking forward to it but it will take sometime before the script and casting are done. Kareena (Kapoor) and I have bonded well since Jeena Sirf Mere Liye and Golmaal has only strengthened the relationship further. She is a great buddy and I simply adore her as an actress. I also admire Ajay Devgn tremendously. He is my favorite co-star.
Daddy Dearest
I shared screen space with dad (Jeetendra) in Kucch Toh Hai and it was awesome working with him. But now, he is keen on looking after the business. If we come across some interesting script, we might work together again. And if I ever get a chance to be a part of remake of any of his films, it has to be Caravan.
Busy Bee
Post Shor in the City, I'm eagerly waiting for the release of Love U...Mr. Kalaakar and also, working for Hum Tum Aur Shabana and The Dirty Picture. Life post Golmaal 3 has been busy and I think the film has been lucky for me. Also, most of my films work in Gujarat! And yes, I'm open to doing all kind of roles. I am really looking forward to taking up a horror film as this is one genre I love.
Suitable Boy
I'm single and ready to mingle. I keep meeting many pretty girls, but I am yet to meet someone who will be my life-partner. I am looking for my Miss Right.
